Madison’s Weekend Before Surgery

After spending the week with our fantastic friends at Sanford Veterinary Clinic, Madison was very happy to be able to head home with her foster carer to relax for the weekend. She needs a big rest up before going in for her surgery next week.

Her surgery was originally planned for Tuesday last week, but some small complications popped up. Not wanting to take any chances, her surgery was postponed so that she could be closely monitored and have some blood tests done. She was happily given the all clear earlier today, and her surgery has been rescheduled for late next week.

Madison’s foster carer was very happy to be able to have her home for the weekend.

“She’s a very sweet girl. Likes to come up for pats and even a snooze next to you. She is very affectionate and loves human company, as well as other cats. She loves her food too! She just needs someone to love her…”

The food part was very evident when she bee-lined directly to her food bowl once out of her carry cage.

Food for Madi
Madi definitely hadn’t lost her appetite

Madison is on ‘bed rest by the doctor’s orders’ this weekend. So she can expect plenty of lazy cuddles from her carer. Her surgery is scheduled for Thursday so she will be very spoilt this forthcoming week. Looking at xrays, her front left elbow was damaged from a previous injury before she came into our care. The muscles around the elbow and in the leg are deteriorating, so she will have a very noticeable limp until the leg is removed.

The volunteers and kitties here at Mid West Cat Shelter, Inc are completely overwhelmed by the unbelievable support we have received for Madison. Her surgery is almost fully funded already and we are just speechless. Any additional donations received will go towards funding the specialised diet that she will begin post-surgery, and making her recovery as speedy and as comfy as possible.

If you would like to contribute towards Madison’s recovery, you can still donate via Pay Pal (by using the button below), direct deposit or cash donations can be accepted at Sanford Vet Clinic if you mention it’s for Madison.
